We are very pleased to announce that The Mercer Fund has agreed to a grant of up to $1.5 million for the Dolores Park Playground renovation in honor of Helen Diller. Helen Diller and her family are long time residents of the San Francisco Bay Area who have been committed to improving lives through the advancement of education, science and the arts. The Mercer Fund is a donor advised fund of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, and a California nonprofit public benefit corporation.
The first Community Planning Meeting for the new playground was held on April 24th. Susan Koch from KLA Landscape Architecture facilitated the meeting, along with RPD. At this broad planning meeting many folks from the neighborhood voiced their desire to create a world-class playground at Dolores Park. Two more community meetings will be held in upcoming months--you can check the schedule and also track progress of the playground campaign at the brand new website.
