ACTION ALERT
Vote "Yes" on Proposition C on November 3rd
NPC says YES to Proposition C, and we urge our coalition to do the same. Proposition C would allow the Recreation and Park Department and the San Francisco 49ers to find a sponsor for Candlestick Park Stadium, and to rename the stadium for that sponsor. Click here for more information and a ballot analysis.

STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM UPDATE
Community events engage park users
Has your park group hosted a community event recently? If not, this October might be the perfect time to do it... Click here for tips on planning a successful event, ways to spread the word, and for a list of upcoming park events across the city-everyone is welcome, of course!

Fun and festivities for all at NPC's annual gala honoring Isabel Wade

FUNDRAISING SPOTLIGHT
Manic Monday? Join NPC at Elixir and support parks on October 26th!
NPC would like to invite you for drinks to the Elixir Saloon in the Mission District on Monday, October 26th at 9:00 PM. Elixir is a wonderful bar that helps local non-profits fundraise in a fun and creative way. NPC staff will be bartending!

Please join us for a fun and engaging night-- chat with other park advocates about the future of San Francisco's open spaces or simply come and relax with your friends! Your tips support your parks! Also, for every Paulaner Heffeweizen or Red Bull Cocktail purchased during the event, $1 will be donated to NPC, so that we can continue our work improving parks and green spaces in the city. Start off your week the right way, and join us at Elixir. Bring your friends!

Support NPC through e-statements at SF Federal Credit Union
San Francisco Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit, community-based financial institution, is giving back to its community and showing its support to Neighborhood Parks Council! For every credit union member who signs up for e-Statements from now through November 30th, the San Francisco Credit Union will donate $5 to NPC. Click here for more info.
VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

In October we feature Sarah Davis (l) and Kim Drutz (r) of Mission Bay Families as our Volunteers of the Month. Sarah and Kim have been working with parents and other neighbors in and around Mission Bay to advocate for parks, schools and other facilities to serve families in San Francisco's newest neighborhood. Click here to read an interview with them and learn about their project's mission and goals.

ParkScan
Help NPC spread the word about ParkScan!
Does your park have a park kiosk or community bulletin board where you could post information about ParkScan to help improve the parks in your neighborhood? NPC has created an 11 x 8.5 template for you. Click here to download the PDF or email sojure@sfnpc.org if you would like to request a customized poster for your group or neighborhood.

If your park group or neighborhood organization would like an NPC staff member to come share information about ParkScan, please contact sojure@sfnpc.org. We are also always happy to conduct tutorials over the phone. As always, don't forget to visit ParkScan.org today to help keep your park clean and green!
