Playground Initiative
NPC Seeks To Build Community Around Three Playgrounds

NPC’s Playground Initiative works to create safe places to play within walking distance of every San Francisco child’s home by organizing community groups to become stewards of low-scoring playgrounds. NPC is currently reaching out to individuals who are interested in being part of a park group at Raymond Kimbell Playground (Western Addition), Youngblood Coleman Playground (Bayview), or Palega Playground (Portola). To get involved or for more information, please contact Sunya Ojure, Playground Initiative Program Coordinator: sojure@sfnpc.org, 415.621.3260.

ParkScan
Using ParkScan Helps Discourage Graffiti and Water Waste!
In the month of August, the issues that received the most ParkScan submissions were cleanliness/dumping (23%), graffiti (21%), irrigation problems (14%), and broken park features (11%).

You can deter graffiti artists by continuing to report graffiti on ParkScan as soon as you see it; most vandals will abandon a site if their tagging is promptly removed. It is also important to report irrigation issues through ParkScan immediately, in order to reduce water waste and to protect planted areas from deterioration. Visit ParkScan.org today to help keep your park clean and green!

Blue Greenway
The public comment period has been extended to Sept. 25th for the India Basin Shoreline Area C Plan. Click here to download the plan and get contact info for submitting comments.
